North Atlantic Carobon Balance following a continuous survey of atmospheric CO2 and O2 at Cap Farewell, Greenland

Abstract

The main goal of this program is to better constrain the carbon budget in the North Atlantic region and to better understand the ongoing processes particularly in the ocean. In addition to the continuous CO2 monitoring, we will also measure O2 continuously. This later measurement leads to complementary information on the oceanic component of the carbon cycle. The data will be directly interpreted with the help of multiple atmospheric transport and climate models of variable complexity. The data will also be used to evaluate the impact of the different components (Ocean-Biospere) to the global carbon budget.
