Location and time:

Värriö forestry field station, Finland, April 23- May 4, 2007. Participants will leave Helsinki on Sunday evening 22 April 2007 by train. The train arrives in Rovaniemi on Monday morning. A charter bus will drive us to Ainijärvi border guarding station. From Ainijärvi we will ski the last ten kilometres to the station, since there is no road. Luggage will be transported by snow scooters. Return back to Helsinki will be on Friday 5 May or Saturday 6 May (morning).

The course will consist of following aspects:

Current problems in Arctic Air Pollution. The course contains lectures, presentations by participants and team works with topics chosen by participants. Detailed topics will be provided for the participants in March.  The topics will be related to themes of IPY-project POLARCAT

Target group:

This course is intended for MSc and PhD-students with prior knowledge on atmospheric physics and chemistry. Maximum number of students is 12.
