An introduction on editing content on POLARCAT.NO

Overview

This is supposed to be a quick resource / how-to for editing content in the polarcat CMS. This website is built with PLONE. For those interested, there are numerous resources at the home page: http:/plone.org

Adding QUICKLOOKS

This section is intended for the sharing of information between campaigns, hopefully, making it very simple to post and discuss observations from the campaigns. To add content:

1) Log in as your appropriate campaign by clicking 'log in' on the bottom right of the page.
2) click on the 'quicklooks' tab.
3) On the grey bar, choose 'ADD TO FOLDER' tab
4) Select the content type:
    - ARTICLE is simplest, and will allow you to add files, photos, and links
    - FILE to add just a file
    - IMAGE to add just an image
    - MultiPage Article - this is good for keeping a blog.

5) Follow the on-screen instructions, click save. That's it! A link will automatically be created on the front page of polarcat.no to the new content item.

Adding CAMPAIGN TOOLS

Adding CAMPAIGN information
1) Log in as your appropriate campaign by clicking 'log in' on the bottom right of the page.
2) click on the 'campaigns tools' tab.
3) Click on the 'EDIT' tab, to edit the front page of the campaign tools folder, or choose one of the subfolders. You can also add content as in the other portions of the site, but it is probably simplest to just add links on the front pages. Use the 'rich text' editing to create new headings, etc.

4) There are several different types of content that can be added.
5) There's a lot that can be done here, feel free to add content as you like, but please do not delete content.
